Unsure if this is relevant to you from your post but I had this issue with a custom race; it was because the skeleton wasn’t pathed to the vanilla skeleton correctly and Xpmse couldn’t overwrite it - I just corrected the pathing by using xedit and the Styles menu showed up in the MCM. Automatically loads saved settings at startup, so you don't have to spend time in MCM again with each new game. esp then it won't show up. The mod's page on Nexus doesn't really help much either. Re-install XPMSSE and don't allow anything to overwrite the skeleton. It's not the best, since you lose some of the fine tuning present in the RaceMenu plugin, but at least you don't have to reset your weapons positions every time you load a game.
